Lucknow DM Reviews Progress of Census 2027 House Listing and Housing Enumeration Drive

Lucknow: To assess the progress of the House Listing and Housing Census being conducted under the first phase of Census 2027, Lucknow District Magistrate Vishakh G. carried out a field inspection in the municipal corporation area. The visit was aimed at ensuring that census-related activities are completed efficiently, accurately, and within the stipulated timeframe.

During the inspection, the District Magistrate visited various House Listing Blocks (HLBs) in Municipal Zone-3, covering the Aliganj and Mahanagar areas. He reviewed the ongoing fieldwork and interacted with enumerators and supervisors to understand the pace of data collection, operational procedures, and practical challenges being faced during the exercise.

The District Magistrate conducted a detailed examination of census records, survey forms, and the digital data collection process being used in the enumeration drive. He emphasized the importance of maintaining accuracy and adhering to prescribed standards while completing the house listing and housing census work in a time-bound manner.

He also directed zonal officers and supervisors to ensure regular monitoring of field staff and to undertake daily reviews of progress. Any issues or obstacles encountered during the survey process, he said, should be addressed promptly to prevent delays and maintain the quality of data collection.

The inspection was attended by Additional Municipal Commissioner Abhinav Ranjan, Additional District Magistrate (Finance and Revenue) Rakesh Kumar Singh, Zone-3 Zonal Officer Manoj Yadav, and other concerned officials.

The Census 2027 exercise is a crucial administrative initiative aimed at generating comprehensive demographic and housing data, which will support future planning and policy formulation at both state and national levels.
